Art and creativity = healing!
It's been essential to my journey.
My paternal grandfather, the son of Swedish immigrants and 1 of 9 children started a number of businesses with his wife in Kansas City in the 1930s. Initially there was Nuway Cleaners, then Nuway Rug and finally Kopp's Rug Company. He was an inventor, held a patent and was honored in 1990 for his years of commitment to the flooring industry and community. His hard work rubbed off on his family with various children (including my Dad) opening related enterprises. I spent my childhood crawling on carpet rolls at his showroom, and making jewelry with spare lighting parts. Our house was designed by my Dad too (pretty unique in the 1980s!) and it was warm, stylish and expressive.
But at seventeen I was sent away to attend a prep academy for my senior year of high school (located in Maryland) in total isolation from everything I had ever known. It was a loss, but also an opportunity for instant growth under pressure. After that move, I wouldn't look back towards my childhood hometown for years.
Fast forward 15+ years. I received my Master's degree in Art Curation in 2011 from USC and lived and worked in some of the most design-forward cities like Santa Fe, Aspen, Paris, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, the Hamptons — supporting some of the most elite clients in the art and interiors world.
But also during that time, in 2012 my half-sister Jana Kopp entered hospice care and passed away after battling a disease for many years. Many people have experienced life-altering circumstances like this and it's what makes you realize that a safe, beautiful, joyful home is healing. A safe haven away from the waves we ride in everyday life.
Today, as a home curator and transformationist I help people heal and thrive in the spaces that hold them most. I assist in telling their story and allowing them to live more authentically. That's my gift and my why - to use my creative talent for healing.

Design plan is presented and approved (you get one revision as needed). You pay 100% of the furnishings retainer before purchases are made. Deliveries arrive to your home and are inspected by you. RKI internally tracks items ordered, status, timeline and budget. You will receive weekly updates of any status changes. We schedule an official install/styling day, execute, and complete a final walk-through.

You'll receive a concise recap and one clear offering recommendation.
Total Transformation includes a design fee of $6,500 with 50% due at contract signing. Furnishings retainer is additional, and is equal to 100% of the approved budget. Get a design plan as well as full-service implementation; hourly work beyond the plan scope is additional.
Stylistic Direction includes a design plan only (mood board, layout, selections, color story, key pieces and sourcing suggestions) for a $1,750 flat fee. One round of questions or revision is granted as needed. Implementation is entirely client-led.
04. Proposal & Offering Selected
RKI reviews your submitted information and if we are a fit, will reach out with an invite to schedule a 90-minute Design Direction session for an investment of $450. You will be expected to prepare (photos, measurements, and inspiration) in preparation for the session which is often virtual, but in-home is available for strong local full-service candidates.

You'll start by submitting a short inquiry form. and sharing the following:
● Which room(s) you’re considering
● Budget comfort range
● Timeline and readiness
● Location (address/zip)
● How you use the space and what isn’t working
We walk your space, clarify your goals, and outline what a full-service transformation would look like. Learn about the level of service provided for the full-service Total Transformation, the typical investment, and the difference between all 2 RKI offerings. If you move forward with the Total Transformation, the $450 is credited toward your broader service. After this session, RKI will know which offering to recommend: full-service, or stylistic direction.
03. Design Direction Session
The project is officially over in regards to original scope. You will receive any final documentation (project summary, high-level budget recap). This phase is also an opportunity to discuss project feedback and make plans for future projects as needed.

Not at this time. As a decorator, I am here to help you plan, source, and layout unique furniture, art, and decor that bring life back to your home and help you live more fully. I do not do projects that involve demolition or construction, however, I'm more than happy to help you style your home once your renovation is complete.
